Skyrim, the way it's meant to be played.

How many of you play Skyrim? Quite a lot of you I'd imagine. Now how many of you play it on the PC and are sick of the low resolution textures? If you one of these people then I can help.

In this post I aim to help you make Skyrim beautiful and to run better.

Now a word of warning, this will put some strain on your PC, more so than a Vanilla Skyrim. If you can run it on high with ease then this is for you.

Don't worry people who run this on low-medium settings, I will post a guide on how to help run Skyrim faster.

So without further a do, let's get to modding.

Right first off, let's start with the environment, below are some mods that help make the atmosphere better.

  1. Realistic Water Textures (This mod increases the resolution and improves the water textures)
  2. Skyrim HD (This mod attempts to improve all textures in Skyrim, from towns to flora, this mod is a work in progress.)
  3. Skyrim Flora Overhaul (This mod vastly improves all aspects of Skyrim's flora.)
  4. Realistic Lighting without post-processing (This mod attempts to make nights darker and day's nicer.)
  5. Enhanced Night Skyrim (This mod adds beautiful night skies to Skyrim, in a multitude of colours to.)
  6. Serious HD Re-texture Landscape (This seriously increase the resolution of the worlds landscape.)
  7. Skyrim Enhanced Shaders (Add's depth and drama to the day/night cycles.)
  8. Realistic Smoke and Embers (Improves the realism on fires, smoke and embers)
  9. Skyrim Sunglare V3 (Adds a better glare to the sun, warning may blind you.)
  10. HD Barrels and Furniture (HD's your household clutter.)
  11. Lush Grass (Makes grass more lush and realistic.)
  12. Lush Tree's (The same as grass but for tree's)
  13. Enhanced Distant Terrain (This makes distant ,non-rendered, terrain less ugly.)
  14. High Resolution Road Signs (Pretty self explanatory.)
  15. Nicer Snowflakes (Makes snow all pretty and what not.
  16. Beautiful Skyrim (HD's clutter and furniture)
  17. Intricate Spider Webs (Makes spider webs more realistic and higher resolution.)
  18. Silly Level of Detail - Potions (HD potions and the like)
  19. Silly Level of Detial - Wine Celler (HD wine, beers, hmmm.)
  20. Bellyaches Animal pack (Makes your animals look better.)
  21. High Quality Food and Ingredients (So good you'll try and eat your screen)
  22. Re-defined Dungeons (Making it feel less homely)
Right that should be all the mods for that one, I may have missed some so check back later in the week just in case.
Secondly, we have the NPC and Character models and texures, now this will have to parts, one for those who want a closer to vanilla texture, and one for those who want beauty. I will warn you some may contain nudity.

Not Nude
  1. XCE (This lone ranger essentually makes each texture from scratch and in a higher resolution, this is by far the best if you want a close to vanilla yet highly detailed character.)
  2. No More Blocky Faces (By the same guy above, I'm not sure if he included it in his other mod so here it is here just in case.)
  3. Better Females (Makes your females all pretty and what not, if you value realism then this is not for you.)
  4. Coverwoman (Like Better Females, but one step beyond, again for you beauty lovers.)
  5. Clothes Improvements (Better looking clothes.)
  6. Armor Improvements (Better looking Armor.)
  7. CoolSims Hair Pack (More, yet less realistic hair styles.)
  8. CoolSims Hair Pack ESP Version (Same as above but doesn't overwrite Vanilla Hair styles.)
  9. CoolsSims Retexture (Makes the hair more down to earth and fitting.)
  10. Eisen Platte Armor (The famous armor from TES 4)
  11. Telthalions Finer Hair (Making hair finer since 1978)
  12. AOF Believable Hair (Like the above but different.)
  13. Improved NPC Clothing (Improves the NPC's...cos they're worth it.)
Nude
  1. CBBE (This is, from what I've seen, the best set of textures for nude (if your into that kinda thing) characters, he also do a never nude version.)
  2. Nocternal Dress for CBBE (Nocturnals Dress made for CBBE, you can see everything.)

And lastly, things that don't fit into the other two, this consists of things like blood splatters and adding features.

  1. WRP (This guy is remaking all weapons in a stupid amount of detail, his work is fantastic and I'd highly recommend this.)
  2. Sound of Nature (Making your nature easier on the ears.)
  3. Immersive Skyrim Thunder (Lightening, but making you run for cover.)
  4. Tytanis (It's the ultimate Skyrim mod, he has teemed with the guys from multiple mods, including Skyrim Online, to bring you a bigger and better Skyrim.)
  5. QD Inventory (Making the inventory easier to use.)
  6. SkyUI (Making the inventory easier and adding features, Needs Nexus Mod Manager)
  7. Enhanced Blood Textures (Just like in real life.)
  8. Jaysus Swords (Adds 38 new swords to the game.)
  9. Realistic Ragdolls and Force (Fall with realism)
  10. PISE (Making Skyrim more of a challenge.)
  11. STEP (Another Skyrim Enhancement project)
Right that is all of them, now before I end this, I would like to say that I have made NONE of these mods. I have tested or are currently using these and also be sensible don't bung them all on and then bitch at me if they don't work, read up on them, decide if you want them, see if they have any conflicts. I will not be held responsible for any damage to your saves or game, you have been warned.

Have fun slaying dragons.
