My gaming in review.

Well since I have some time today because of the SOPA business I may as well start this article. Hello by the way and welcome to "My Gaming in Review" it will kinda be a regular thing, I will do it every couple of months depending on how much and how good my gaming gets.

So what is this all about? Well it's me pretty much rambling on about games I'm playing whilst giving a mini-review on them, so read carefully or you might miss the review bit.

On the menu today we have a 5 course for £0 deal, so let's get you seated and ready to eat.
For you're 1st starter we have a nice Full House Poker
For you're 2nd starter we have a delicious Sonic Generations
Now onto your main course, how does Gears of War 3 sound?
For desert number 1 we have Skyrim
and lastly why not finish your meal with a nice big plate of Elevator:Source

So if you're happy with the menu let's begin.

You may have heard me mention it before but Full House Poker is an XBLA game where your/avatar plays poker with people around the world, it's fun and is much better than real poker as I can't lose actual money, which is great. But some weeks ago I had Foxay tell me about a tournament on there...I was intrigued, so we joined along with a mate, who I shall call Pearce to hide his identity, and got started. Was quite tense to start as I started on the Double Diamond table and got absolutely trounced and moved down to the Single Diamond table, where both my mates were happily winning on the Triple Diamond table, which I was not happy with....So I picked up my game and by the end of the tournament I was head of a Triple Diamond table with over 2 million $ worth of chips....not bad if I do say so myself. I should have recorded it really, it was a lot more epic than it sounds here, there were strippers, explosions and even some people doing Seppuku, they shall be missed...
So the moral of the story? BUY THIS GAME!!

Now secondly we have Sonic Generations, and for those not accustomed to it, it is not a shitty Sonic game, far from it. I would go far as to say it's the best sonic game since Sonic DX (Sonic Adventure for the console crowd). It was made to celebrate the anniversary of Sonic which is why the game is all about the past and present Sonic's. It's fast paced (except two levels), it's fun  (except two levels) and it flows  (except two levels), now for the people who are on the ball you may have seen I've said "except two levels" a bit, well that's because in my opinion Crisis City and Wisp Planet has to be some of the worst level design ever, Sonic is about speed and being able to flow through a level, yet in these levels you can't, when a level take over 4 minutes to complete then you know it's shit. But, I will say the addition of the on-line leader board thing  is a good thing, as I am only 21 seconds off the best speed-run in Spagonia Rooftop Run, and I can't for the life of me get any quicker than 2:23, I also did a 2:19 on Green Hill zone and now can't get anywhere near that time...
So in summery this sonic game is fast paced, not too cheesy and will bring you some fun, even if only for an hour or two, it's a welcome from 15 years of shit, so if you're a console or PC gamer, get it, you won't be disappointed.

Thirdly we have Gears of War 3, which I'm still finding fun, me and my mates usually get a few games of horde in a week and we have managed to beat wave 50, but only the once...it was an epic struggle, get it epic...epic games...ah never mind. One thing I got infuriated with was the Horde command pack, now I don't mind paying for DLC, I think DLC is a great thing to have, but when you have to pay to unlock content already on the disc, I draw the line, and don't fob me off with bullshit excuses like we finished it before we finished the game because the Horde Command Pack came out broken, so that puts a hole in that one, anyway aside from that bit of cheapness it's a solid game.

Desert time!! Again iiiiitttt's Skyrim, yes for the last week or so I've been talking about nothing other than Skyrim, it will be short and sweet this time, kinda like a cheesecake...hmmm cheesecake, yeah just to let you guys know that the creation kit and the 1.4 patch will be out next week, presuming they keep to their times. So yeah that's it for Skyrim...for a while....you hope...

Lastly we have a simple yet fantastic mod for Garry's Mod, it's Elevator:Source. The basics of it are you're in an elevator...with friends....no seriously that's it....the door opens on each floor and shit happens....people die, oh yes people die, forgot about that. People can also join your elevator...people like Steve the Skeleton, also the person who made this mod has also made it so that you can very easily add your own floors, my only gripe is you can't leave the lift until you reach floor 28, but seeing as it's only just come out and it took 4 weeks to make I'll let it off, for now. It's good for the 30 to 40 minutes your there but not much fun after as it's all the same, I would recommend you give it a go anyway just for the LOL's.

So that's my gaming in review, I would suggest you buy all these games or at least give them a go in some shape or form.

Till next time.
